The draft is over, most of free agency is behind us, and training camp is still a month away. So, what is there to talk about? Win totals for each NFL team next season!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Win totals are one of the most popular betting markets in all sports, and the NFL is built perfectly for it. The early odds for 2023 NFL win totals<a href=\"https:\/\/splashsports.com\/blog\/nfl-win-total-odds\"> are available<\/a>, and a handful of them stood out as decent value picks for what\u2019s expected to unfold on the field this fall. Let\u2019s see if you agree with my assessments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">NFL Win Totals: Where\u2019s The Good Value?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Atlanta Falcons under 8.5 (-130)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$100 bet payout:<\/strong> $176.92<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The last time the Atlanta Falcons won more than 8.5 games was 2017, back when Dan Quinn was their heralded head coach and Matt Ryan was one of the league\u2019s most prolific passers. Those days are long gone, and the team is looking at a quarterback room consisting of Taylor Heinicke, Desmond Ridder, and Logan Woodside. Yikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5csfgEqNuQ4\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is reason to believe that this season could be a bit of an improvement from the last for Atlanta, but there are also a lot of unknowns here. It would take the team picking up two more wins than it did a season ago to surpass the 8.5-win bar set here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Carolina Panthers under 7.5 (+115)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$100 bet payout:<\/strong> $215<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carolina completed its fifth-straight season with seven wins or fewer<a href=\"https:\/\/www.panthers.com\/news\/year-in-review-2022-one-of-wildest-years-panthers-history\"> in 2022<\/a>, concluding the Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore, and Matt Rhule eras in the process. In many ways, the Panthers are starting totally fresh in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A new-look coaching staff headed by Frank Reich is in charge now, and their quarterback options are Andy Dalton or No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young. Perhaps this new path pushes the Panthers in the right direction, but will all these moving pieces have the team firing immediately to start the season?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These odds are giving you more than double your money for something that hasn\u2019t happened in a half-decade. That\u2019s not too shabby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kansas City Chiefs over 11.5 (-140)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$100 bet payout:<\/strong> $171.43<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I know the potential payoff isn\u2019t that huge, but the Chiefs have won more than 11.5 games in every campaign dating back to 2018. Patrick Mahomes is still their quarterback, Andy Reid is still their head coach, and they\u2019re considered one of the main contenders to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl for the fourth time in five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nC9ZqR6XAWY\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of those past 11.5-plus win seasons were played with one fewer game, too. It seems unlikely that Mahomes and the Chiefs will find themselves on the wrong side of the scoreboard more than five times this regular season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chicago Bears under 7.5 (+115)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$100 bet payout:<\/strong> $215<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A lot of people expect the Bears to show significant improvement from their 3-14 mark in 2022 as a young team gets older and Justin Fields continues along in his progression. Plus, a terrible campaign last time around means a friendlier schedule for this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It doesn\u2019t seem like Chicago will be dug as deep in the NFL basement in 2023, but perhaps you think a five-game swing is a bit much to ask for from the Bears under second-year head coach Matt Eberflus. A 7-10 record would be a step in the right direction for the franchise and still not enough for the under bet to lose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Buffalo Bills over 10.5 (-140)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$100 bet payout:<\/strong> $171.43<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Buffalo Bills have won at least 11 games in each of the last three regular seasons, and there\u2019s plenty of reason to believe they\u2019ll stretch that streak to four in 2023. The Bills have become one of the more consistent regular season performers in the NFL over the last few campaigns, and the main core of head coach Sean McDermott, quarterback Josh Allen, and wide receiver Stefon Diggs are still in town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TB25KuNMWUk\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even if Buffalo takes a step back from 2022, it would have to lose an additional four games for the over bet to lose. That would probably require a sizable regression from one of Allen or the team\u2019s defense, neither of which is especially likely to occur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Washington Commanders under 6.5 (+100)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$100 bet payout:<\/strong> $200<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Washington\u2019s quarterback situation wasn\u2019t great last season, and it doesn\u2019t look like it\u2019ll be much better this go. The franchise has Jacoby Brissett, Sam Howell, Jake Fromm, and Tim DeMorat &#8211; three guys with very little NFL experience among them, and a journeyman vet on his fourth team in as many years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Commanders do not have a nice schedule, either. Having to deal with six NFC East games is rough enough, but they also have contests set against the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, and San Francisco 49ers. In total, Washington will have 10 outings versus teams that made the playoffs in 2022.
