We recently covered the NFL\u2019s top logos<\/a> so it\u2019s time now to rank the worse designs, the teams that need a fashion remake. We hope you will never see these logos the same way again;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Buccaneers have always had a pleasant color scheme but their first logo was too flourish, too \u201870s illustration so they wisely upgraded in 1997. The Raiders are a good look to ripoff except for one elementary problem\u2014putting a waving flag on a helmet is a mistake (a helmet IS a flag of sorts already). So what did they do? In 2014, they made the flag very large so it\u2019s distorted.\u00a0 Recognizing this didn\u2019t work, they made it smaller in 2020. Stop changing the size and stop trying to say so much. Simplify. My suggested helmet below. No, thank you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

14. Washington Commanders<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Team Formerly Known As\u2026should just use Prince\u2019s symbol at this point. Actually what they\u00a0should<\/em>\u00a0do is change the team name and logo\u00a0every<\/strong>\u00a0season. The only team in sports to do that and every season the fans would finally have something to look forward to and it would make the team a fortune in merch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

13. Chicago Bears<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s right, I said it. Nice uniform but the logo really is not that great. Simple is fine but it has to be compelling. The Packers pull it off. The Cubs pull it off. You can\u2019t take a backseat to your baseball counterparts. Maybe it\u2019s time to go bold and try something like this? Tell me this would not be better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12. Seattle Seahawks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So close. I can see what they were going for. They got the colors right but then the artist went all designy on us reinterpreting the bird. Too evil now. Could be a logo for Artificial Intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11. Philadelphia Eagles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know many design experts are enamored with this logo. I see it as a poor man\u2019s Vikings helmet. Am I the only person who thinks it’s a little silly to have wings on a helmet? Maybe everyone is too young to remember the TV show,\u00a0The Flying Nun<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Tennessee Titans<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You know this design team threw their hands up in the air in defeat because they 1) used the go to red, white and blue palette (although I DO like the light blue) and 2) they added flames. The first rule of Logos 101; you can use flames but only if your team is called the Heat or the Flames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. Carolina Panthers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An over-stylized team logo that is all attitude without any attitude that captures the state. It could be a logo for any place or any sport for that matter. Back to the drawing board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Atlanta Falcons<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like the team, always had potential but never ready for the big time. That logo is too cryptic for me. Am I missing something? Is that a big bird flapping? Unless there is a secret message in there nobody has told me about, that drawing of a falcon is a turkey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Baltimore Ravens<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only team doing an homage to one of our great poets (Edgar Allen Poe, who played free safety, University of Virginia). Doesn\u2019t get any ballsy than that. But whoever designed thy logo and thought it wise to place an initial B in the middle should be hired, nevermore. Should have stayed with the excellent first logo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Jacksonville Jaguars<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blue tongue set to soiled diaper colors, straddling between cartoony and fierce and yet, totally forgettable. Put\u00a0any<\/em>\u00a0cat logo there and it would at least be more memorable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Buffalo Bills<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ever since 2006 that weird red stripe across the buffalo has haunted me. What the hell is that? Not every mammal that graces a helmet has to be in motion. Stop trying too hard. The old water buffalo was so unassuming, so unexpected, you thought, watch out! What are they up to? It was the only sports logo with the outline of genitals. With the understated white dot for an eye, I contend it was sport\u2019s funniest logo\u2026ever. We lost that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. New England Patriots<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anything had to be better than a squatting Colonialist hiking a ball, the logo until 2007. Except this large Elvis-lookalike in motion. There\u2019s a difference between laughing WITH you or laughing AT you. Hiking a turkey would be an improvement. Everyone has overlooked the logo\u2019s shortcoming because they were a dynasty. Well that ended. Now we notice. The logo stinks. Both graphics always suffered from feeling dated. Instead they should lean into it with something really dated, hey, here\u2019s an idea, something colonial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Cincinnati Bengals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the closest thing the NFL has to what a cougar would wear in a seedy bar. Perfect if the team WAS named the Cougars. This is directed to whoever came up with the idea of these head-to-toe same-color uniforms across the league, you are making your team look foolish. If Vince Lombardi were alive and coaching any of these teams he would never let them run onto the field wearing onesies.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Houston Texans <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

See what you can do when you don\u2019t get pretentious? The Texan logo was not created by someone who understands football or captured the Texas feel. With one of the greatest sports logos next door, you have to pick up your game. Houston, you have a problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Denver Broncos<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another case where the designer is on his high horse. Too swishy, too butch. It makes me miss the old logo, which I initially hated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
