New Orleans Saints Team History

The New Orleans Saints compete in the NFL's NFC South division. They were founded in 1966 and are named after the jazz music heritage of New Orleans and the spiritual hymn "When the Saints Go Marching In." The Saints struggled in their early years, but their fortunes improved in the late 2000s and 2010s. They won their first and only Super Bowl appearance in the 2009 season, making them one of two NFL franchises to win their sole Super Bowl appearance.
