There are a few different approaches you can take to maximize your chances of winning our RunYourPlayoff Fantasy Contest. So before you make your choices, we wanted to give a brief overview of the two considerations you'll need make
Keep in mind you'll need to select 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX (RB/WR), 1 K, and 1 Defense. Remember also this is 1 PPR (one point per reception) contest and you'll only be able to use any given player one time through the entirety of the postseason. A WR or RB who typically has a great number of receptions can prove highly valuable, even if they don't necessarily score touchdowns or gain a lot of yardage.
A More Conservative Approach: Save Winning Teams' Players
Some entrants will decide to use the best player of a given week who they think will no longer play the following week (because their team is eliminated from the playoffs), thus ensuring you will have a starting player for all your positions all the way through the Playoffs.
Otherwise, if you select, say, Tom Brady in Week 1, and then Patrick Mahomes in Week 2, and it’s a Buccaneers-Chiefs Super Bowl, you will be out a starting QB and forced to select between backup QBs, who likely won't get any points.
A More Aggressive Approach: Go For Gold Right Away
Other players will want to use players who seemingly will have exceptional standout games, instead of saving them for later.
For example, if you think Aaron Rodgers will put up 7 TDs on, say, the Saints defense, you may want to use him for that week and not save him for another game — as 7 TDs will net you a great deal of points that can offer padding in weaker rounds.
Remember that this may be an especially useful strategy if your goal is to win the $500 weekly prize and not the $2,500 first-place prize.
In any case, your selection strategy will likely need to employ tactics of both mentalities above to win this contest.
